In the latest escapade of the Caped Crusader penned by the maestro Joshua Williamson and brought to life by the visual virtuosos Mikel Janin and Simone Dimeo, with a splash of colors by Jeromy Cox and Romulo Fajardo Jr, and a symphony of letters by Steve Wands - it's time for a thrilling adventure that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew!
Our tale commences with a slap-happy training session for Damian courtesy of Mistress Harsh. The dynamic shifts as Batman, AKA Damian's mom, witnesses the harsh (no pun intended) discipline and decides she's had enough. But wait, who's this mysterious Shush character? Spoiler alert: It's not Hush, despite appearances! The plot thickens faster than Joker's makeup.
Enter the transformed Super Man Bat, now more menacing and resembling a bat about as much as a banana. Forget cocoons; he's gone full-on chemical resurrection mode. Suspension of disbelief? Check! The real kicker? He explains it all to a trussed-up Damian - apparently, decapitation is just a minor inconvenience in the world of comic book science.
Shush, appropriately calling the Man Bat transformation "Boss," has a grand plan: to be Gotham's savior. However, there's a slight catch - Batman must bite the dust first. Move over, Batman - it's time for Man Bat's moment in the spotlight.
In the world of superhero science, Batman overcomes the mysterious pheromone poison by... reminding everyone who's boss. A tactic so potent, it should be bottled as Bat-mite repellent.
The aftermath unfolds, with good guys reverting to their usual selves, while the terrible trio is left simmering in a brew of rage, courtesy of science. Because comics.
Flip the script to Damian, reluctantly returning to school. Surprise! His principal is none other than Mistress Harsh, who, big reveal, is also Shush! Cue dramatic gasps, or not, because savvy readers saw this twist coming miles away.
The issue wraps up with a tantalizing teaser for the next installment: Deadly Pancake Breakfasts. Because nothing says superhero drama like the threat of killer flapjacks.
Now, let's address the elephant in the Batcave: the writing. While the visuals are a feast for the eyes, the narrative might make you wish for a Batarang to the face. But fear not, comic aficionados, as we unravel the layers of this Gotham drama with a generous 2/10 rating. Trashy brilliance or brilliantly trashy? That's for you to decide!
